Twickets, the UK face value resale ticketing platform, which launched in Australia last May, has unveiled its official Facebook app for major artists including Ed Sheeran.
The app is operational in Australia and New Zealand, its Melbourne-based regional GM Danny Hannaford told TMN.
In England, artists who have utilised the app have, aside from Sheeran, also included George Ezra, Noel Gallagher & The Flying Birds and The Streets.
The function is embedded in the artists’ Facebook page and is accessible from a new "Ticket Resale" section on the main toolbar, introducing face value resale directly into the social networking site.
"We’re really exciting to be taking Twickets directly to Facebook users for the first time," said Twickets founder Richard Davies.
"By embedding our app into artist pages it will aid the discovery process for fans previously unaware of an alternative to the abusive secondary ticket market.
“With over 150 artist and event partners to date this is a significant move, and we appreciate the continued support we receive from them all."

Last November, Twickets also integrated with Eventbrite in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Ticket holders who have purchased a ticket via Eventbrite but can no longer attend an event will be able to list tickets on Twickets by logging into their Eventbrite account within the Twickets platform.
Once a ticket has been resold, the original ticket will be cancelled and a new, unique ticket issued to the buyer.
Since Twickets set up in the UK in February 2015, more than 500,000 Brits had downloaded Twickets’ app, registered on site or followed on social media in the first two years.
More partnerships in Australia and New Zealand are to be announced shortly, Hannaford said.
