 PRESS RELEASE:

Universal Music Publishing Australia has signed a global music publishing deal with rising Sydney band I Know Leopard, it was announced today by Bob Aird, Universal Music Publishing Australia MD, and Heath Johns, Universal Music Publishing Australia Director of A&R.

I Know Leopard’s debut EP Illumina, marked the band’s arrival as the first two singles “She” and “Hold this Tight” each achieved international attention and Australian alternative radio play. The third single, “Daisy Eyes”, showcased a more layered, complex offering, receiving solid National airplay on Triple J and Double J, as well as community radio support and nods of approval from bloggers and journalists worldwide.

Following Illumina amongst intensive national touring, I Know Leopard released the first taste of the band’s forthcoming sophomore EP single, “Perfect Picture”, which was immediately added to full rotation on Triple J. The new single also won them the opening slot at this year's Laneway Festival in Sydney through Triple J's esteemed Unearthed competition.

In making the announcement Johns said: “We are incredibly pleased to welcome I Know Leopard into the Universal Music Publishing family. Their songs are emotive, finely crafted and they are a very impressive live proposition. We look forward to helping them build their career at home and abroad."

"We are so excited to be working with the team at UMP. They really seem to identify with where we are coming from musically and fully support our vision. It's nice to feel so nurtured at this stage of our career and know that our songs are in good hands,” said I Know Leopard frontman Luke O’Loughlin.

I Know Leopard join a UMP Australia roster that includes 360, Passenger, M-Phazes, The Veronicas, The Aston Shuffle, The Bamboos, Wave Racer, Gang of Youths, Guy Sebastian, Jet, Horrorshow, Little Sea, Jessica Mauboy, Louis Schoorl, The Living End, Wolfmother, The Potbelleez, Jackie Onassis, Bag Raiders, Dead Letter Circus, Spit Syndicate, Jonti, Last Dinosaurs and many more.
