Eoin Cameron only recently vacated his highly successful breakfast shift on Perth’s 720 ABC after a 47-year career.
In 2015 Eoin took some time off while recovering from surgery as a result of a 2013 car accident. His last day On-Air was March 11 this year.
Eoin Cameron was aged 65 and leaves behind his wife Wendy, who he affectionately referred to on-air as "the war office"; and three children. Cameron also had nine grandchildren and was the second-oldest of a family of 10.
Michael Mason, Head of Radio for the ABC spoke to Radio Today this morning. Mason discussed Eion’s career saying he was “More than just a radio announcer… he was a force of nature”.
