Video streaming service VEVO has unveiled a bevy of new stats that demonstrate it has paid rights holders over $500 million since 2010.
The company has seen its business grow over 50% in the subsequent four years, with the revenue for rights holders stemming from 100 billion streams across its distribution platform. VEVO has continued to invest over half a billion dollars in music video programming via royalties that have grown from $200m since November 2012.
Further stats reveal that users watched 55 billion music videos globally in 2013, which was an increase from 41 billion in 2012. By the end of last year, VEVO had attracted 243 million unique monthly viewers worldwide and averaged 165 million daily views between July and December, an increase of 40% from 2012.
Almost 17 billion of those views came from smart-phones, tablets and connected televisions.
