warner bros president dan mccarroll departs label

President and head of the A&R department for Warner Bros Dan McCarroll has informed staff that he will be leaving the company.

“The last four years here have been amazing for me," McCarroll wrote in a company memo.

"It has been my pleasure and honor to work with some of the greatest artist."

McCarroll was named president of Warner Bros back in December 2013 and had previously held the same role at Capitol Records.

Warner Bros chairman Cameron Strang added that McCarrol had "been integral in evolving our A&R activity, and helping us grow our partnerships with some of the world’s biggest stars, all the while attracting a new generation of talent to the label”.

McCarroll’s departure comes during a time of heightened success for the company, with 10 of the label’s leading artist such as Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Prince all receiving number ones since 2016.
