PRESS RELEASE:

Liam Gallagher has signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group. The former Oasis and Beady Eye frontman has written new material for his first solo album, which is expected to be released in 2017.

Mike Smith, Managing Director, Warner/Chappell Music UK, adds: “I am so pleased to be able to welcome Liam to the Warner Chappell Family. He is one of the greatest rock and roll stars that this country has ever produced. It is thrilling to see him develop as a writer and these songs will take him to new levels of success and recognition.”

Gallagher was the front man and lead singer of Oasis, a band whose seven multi-platinum albums sold a combined total of 77 million copies, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. Their second record (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? gave them their big break around the world and remains the fifth biggest selling album in UK history. All seven of the band’s studio albums went to Number One in the UK, as did their 2010 compilation Time Flies, and they had eight Number One UK singles.  Oasis won six BRIT Awards, as well picking up numerous NME and Q Awards.

After Oasis, Gallagher fronted Beady Eye for the release of two top five albums and he subsequently worked on the new Oasis film Supersonic, which was released in October this year.
