PRESS RELEASE:

Wollongong’s only punk, rock and metal festival will return this year bigger and better than ever before.

The brainchild of Luke Armstrong, HY-FEST started life in 2011 as a way to bring together mates he’d made over years of touring with his bands HY-TEST and BRUCE!

Each year the festival has grown in size and popularity, and 2015 is set to be the biggest one yet.

Teaming up with YOURS & OWLS and HELTER SMELTER, Hy-Fest has managed to put together a pretty damn good line-up that has hard music fans sweating and salivating with excitement.

Keeping with tradition, HY-TEST will play host and perform alongside some of the biggest names in Australian loud music such as THE MEANIES (pictured), HARD-ONS, CAPTAIN CLEANOFF, and DEAD, as well as as a mix of some of the best old and new bands from the local scene.

“We really wanted to bring some of these out-of-owners to Wollongong to destroy audiences, but the festival is also a chance to celebrate what’s happening in our own backyard,” says Armstrong. There’s so much going on in hard music both locally and at a national level and this is a perfect way to showcase that.”
