yet another australian visa issue forces young thug to cancel sydney city limits performance

For the second time in over 12 months, Atlanta rapper Young Thug has had to blow out an Australian festival because of visa issues.

Last January it was a last minute drop-out from Laneway.

This time It’s from tomorrow’s Sydney City Limits, leading organisers to bring in Tkay Maidza to replace him.

Earlier this week, Young Thug announced he was changing his name to SEX. In 2016 he wanted to be called Jeffery, but, later on, he used the name as the title of his mixtape.

Live Nation Australia explained, “Unfortunately, Young Thug has been unable to comply with the requirements for processing his Australian entry visa application.

“This has now made it impossible to secure visa approval in time for Young Thug to travel from the USA in time to appear at Sydney City Limits.”

Maidza joins a bill topped by Justice, Beck, Future, Vance Joy, Phoenix, Tash Sultana, Grace Jones, Gang of Youths, The Avalanches, Dune Rats, The Libertines and Allday.
